10 a.m. Jan. 28 (grades 9-11)

ABOUT THE PRODUCTION:
Free ACTING Master Class Presented by The Voorhees Theatre Company

Continuing its mission to bring theater education to children and young adults, Voorhees Theatre Company is presenting two FREE acting master classes. The two-hour seminars conducted by the Walnut Theatre’s Kate Galvin, are scheduled for 7 p.m. Jan.24 (open to grade 12 through age 22) and 10 a.m. Jan. 28 (grades 9-11) at Voorhees Middle School, 1000 Holly Oak Drive, Voorhees.

The curriculum for both sessions includes audition tools, providing information on headshots, preparing theater resumes, how best to practice and more.  Discussions will also include the business of show business, the Philadelphia theater scene and a question-and-answer session.

The classes will also allow up to eight participants per session the opportunity for one-on-one acting coaching taught in-the-round, enabling others in attendance to observe and gain valuable acting tips. Students will be selected by lottery at the event to receive the one-on-one tutoring. Everyone should bring a contemporary monologue no greater than three minutes long.  Requests to participate as one of the eight are due no later than Wednesday, January 18th and should be emailed to Karen@Voorheestheatre.org .  Please include your name, age/grade, email address and a phone number. Anyone that would like to just watch the program is encouraged to do so, but we still need you to send us your name and age to be added to the list.
